The duplicate videos

We all have experienced the following scenario. You are looking for a particular video let’s say a video about a certain type of dog. You have found your video and really enjoy watching it. After you’ve finished watching you want more and search again for the same type of dog. You will see the video you’ve just watched in the search results together with numerous videos you haven’t watched yet.
You click on one of the videos you think you haven’t watched and find out that this is the exact same video you’ve watched before. The only difference is another title and that’s it. The rest is all the same.
This is a bit of a downside on youtube, there are so many videos to choose from and still you run into duplicate videos on a regular basis. Well, I guess we have to live with it, because I think is impossible for youtube to remove all the duplicate videos. Just pay attention to the thumbnail. If the thumbnails are similar, changes are the video is a duplicate one.

The YouTube tutorials

You will know what I’m talking about in a few sentences from now. Sometimes you want something to know. For example how to fold an airplane from a piece of paper. Most of you will probably know how to achieve this difficult goal. But if you don’t you’ll end up searching on Google or YouTube to find out how it’s been done. Let just assume you’ll use YouTube. You’ll start your search on the YouTube site and in the results you’ll see tons of tutorial videos explaining you how to fold an airplane. It’s likely you’ll just click on the first result. Now you’ll see a video with some hands a desk and a piece of paper. A lame man’s voice tells you how to fold an airplane and folds on as he speaks. This is so boring to watch, it just makes such videos useless. In most cases it is better to use a search engine instead of YouTube. Most people just can’t make a good tutorial video. They just extend it too long and most of them are like watching paint dry.

The YouTube hype

Do you know one of those movies which are being watched a million times. Those weird or funny movies? I know a couple of those and I always wonder why they have gotten so popular.
It must be something like this.
Some guy uploads a funny video of someone who is falling from a staircase. A lot of people find it funny to see someone getting hurt.
After the guy uploaded the video he’s going to tell to his friend to watch the video both online and offline.
If the friends like the video they will tell their friends to watch it. It is like a snowball rolling from a hill covered in snow, it will get big at the end of the hill.
And after numerous views, the video will be on the homepage of YouTube.
Even more people watch the video and tell their friends. So that’s basically how a hype starts on YouTube. Of course there are different scenarios thinkable, but this is the most common one.

The greatest music ever!

Everyone knows that Michael Jackson is the best artist ever! He's so great!
The reason he became so popular is that he made the best music in the world.
Forget Elvis and mister Cash, the greatest  in the whole wide world is and always will be Michael Jackson.
The songs he made are so amazing! Remember classics like "I 'm Bad", "Billy Jean" and "Thriller"?
The quality of those songs have yet to be surpassed by other artists.
Because I love Michael just like the rest of the world, I've decided to put a little tribute video of the king of pop on my precious blog. And here it is, please do not forget to turn up the volume :)

Falling down

Everybody wants to laugh. And so are you.
On youtube you can find lots of videos with funny things happening.
Most of them contain a series of clips merged together to one. 
The video is often soundless or with a background music.
We all know the hype started a long time ago with Funniest home videos.
Actually it started way earlier with Charlie Chaplin, he practically invented the funny video.
Nowadays you can find them all on youtube, some funny and others not.
It's kind of strange that lots of people like to see other people falling or suffering.
I'm one of those people, but I'm a youtube lunatic, so that doesn't count :).
Below you can watch an example of the kind of video I'm talking about.

Listen to music on youtube?

Youtube is an ideal medium for listening music online.
All the popular stars can be found on this video site, like Justin Bieber, Michael Jackson and lots of others.
But also the less popular underground artist are present.

Sound quality

The sound quality of the music on youtube videos varies.
The video's with a quality of 480p or above contain the stereo AAC audio stream, which means the quality is suprisingly good!
Video's with a quality below 480p contain the mono MP3 audio stream. The quality of the music from those video's are reasonable.
When listening to the video's on youtube always try to play the video's on 480p or above, so you can enjoy the music at it's best.

Online or offline?


Of course there's a downside on listening music on youtube:
The video are online!
You'll need an internet connection everytime you want to listen to music.

Just download the songs from the video!
